Luxembourg IP Tax Law
The Luxembourg government has issued on 5 March 2009 an important circular (tax circular LIR n°50bis/1) aiming at clarifying the application of the favorable Luxembourg IP Law.
The hallmark of the IP LAw of 19 December 2007 is an 80% exemption on royalties and capital gains derived from many types of IP. Companies benefiting from the new regime would be subject to an effective tax rate as low as 5.72% on qualifying net IP income.
